First time seeing Les Mis
This was my first time seeing Les Mis. Given that the first act includes about 20 years of time I would highly suggest that people become familiar with the story line prior to attending the show or they will be lost VERY quickly. I was glad I had familiarized myself with the plot prior to attending. My biggest complaint with the show had nothing to do with the performance of the show - but the writing of the show. I thought trying to cram 20+ years into a single act did not work well. However, this show has won many awards and my comment on this is only my humble opinion. After the first act I was not overly impressed with the show. However, the second act truly won me over. There were some tear-jerker moments in the 2nd act and the music and lyrics were incredible. The set was well thought out for a show on the road. The lights and sound were very good. There were some "special effects" (the jump from the bridge, and the walks through the sewers) that were very well done. All in all I would recommend this show to my friends.
